Full Name: Margaret Schnebly Hodge (Schnebly Maiden name)

Years Attended Daytona State: 1971 - 1973
Graduation year: 1974
Degree/Certificate: AA

Why did you choose to attend Daytona State?
 I
had never traveled much and was uncomfortable about taking off to places unknown. I just was not sure of my next steps. My parents encouraged me to attend college so the local college was perfect.

How has an education from Daytona State made a difference in your life?
Two years at the community college helped me get the foundation and confidence I needed to move away and finish my 4 year degree.

What have you been doing since you’ve graduated (additional schooling, employment, travel, personal)?
I moved back to Volusia County and worked as a designer in a variety of industries from sign designs, to publishing companies, to marketing/advertising agencies. In the 1980's I started working for the local county government in the community information area as well as maintaining my own graphic and fine art business. Today I am assisting in designing upgrades to county public facilities and exhibiting my art. My works can be found in private and fine institution collections. My husband and I celebrated 34 years of marriage  in September 2014 and enjoy living in Ormond Beach.

What is your favorite Daytona State memory?
I enjoyed being able to  pop over to the beach for some sun in between classes.  You just can't beat Florida weather.
