Scholarship Listing

Daytona State College Foundation is pleased to offer a wide range of scholarships.  The vast majority of DSC scholarships are awarded based on completion of the Foundation’s single application, your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and information you provided on your college application.  Some scholarships are awarded based on the recommendation of a Department Chair.  Questions about your application should be directed to the DSC Financial Aid office.

Financial Educators Federal Credit Union Scholarship - Support of the DSC athletic program through scholarships and athletic program support.

AAUW Stem Scholar of the Year -  $750 scholarship to a female student who is a resident of Volusia or Flagler County.  Student must have completed 12 credit hours, with at least 6 in STEM related classes.   Student must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.   The student must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, majoring in STEM related courses while attaining their AA degree.  Letters of recommendation must include one faculty member from STEM courses taken, who is familiar with academic performance and one from a personal reference noting character of applicant.

AC VanSanten Scholarship  - One $700 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll for at least twelve semester hours in the Nursing (associate degree) program (leading to qualification as a registered nurse) during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Adelia C. Minor Math Education Scholarship -  For Bachelor of Education, Majoring in Secondary Mathematics; Full-time students, Minimum 3.0 GPA; Student must demonstrate financial need, Preference given to female students. $1,200

Adult Education Scholarship Fund - Scholarships for students in Adult Education Program.

Alane Thomson LaMee Endowment Scholarship - Women 35+; displaced homemakers; minimum of 6 semester hours; 2.5 GPA; Resident of Volusia or Flagler.  $100 per credit hour.

Alex Simpkins Crouch Memorial Scholarship - $1000 to a new or continuing full-time student, registered for twelve or more credits.  Students must be in a program offered through the Marine and Environmental Studies such as Marine Science, Marine Biology, Ocean Engineering or Environmental Science/Environmental Science in Technology working toward their A.A. or A.S. degree.  Student must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler County and a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.  Preference will be given to graduates of Seabreeze High School.

Alicia Avant Erwin Nursing Endowment - $1000 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll for at least twelve semester hours in either the LPN or RN program at DSC in the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Allen Associate of Science Degree in Nursing Endowment School  - $1,200 per semester.  Scholarship Recipient may be a new or continuing student who is enrolled in the Daytona State College Associate of Science Degree Program to become a Registered Nurse.  The use of Scholarship funds is restricted to pay for tuition, course materials, books, laboratory or clinical fees, and for the license fee to become a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida upon graduation.  Scholarship Recipient must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA.  $1,200 per award.

Allen HVAC and Industrial Management Scholarship Endowment Fund - Scholarship Recipient may be a new or continuing student enrolled in the HVAC Vocational Certificate Program and for those graduates to go on to complete an Associate of Science Degree in Industrial Management. Funds may be used to pay for tuition, course materials, books, laboratory fees, and for the license fee.  $1,200 per award

Allen Paramedic Scholarship Endowment Fund - Scholarship Recipient may be a new or continuing student who is enrolled in the Daytona State College Paramedic Certificate program.  If a student successfully completes the Paramedic Program, scholarship funds will also be available for that student to earn an AS degree.  Funds may be used to pay for tuition, course materials, books, laboratory or clinical fees, and for the license fee.  $1,200 per award

Alpha Kappa Alpha, Incorp, Gamma Mu Omega Chapter Adult Education - $500 scholarship may be applied to tuition& fees.  Scholarship recipient may be a continuing full time or part-time student.  Scholarship recipient must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester hours and maintain satisfactory grades (2.5 GPA).  Recipient must be a female and a resident of Volusia County.  Preference will be given to a female of African-American descent.  Recipient must be a US citizen.  Recipient must demonstrate financial need.

Alsup Trust-Custodial Endowment - To provide scholarships, amount dependent on the needs of the student. Awards should be made to a continuing student (not a new student), making progress towards their degree or certificate. Recipient must demonstrate financial need.

American Association of University Women - Flagler - $1200 scholarship for a new or continuing female student who will enroll in at least six semester hours during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA, intend to transfer to a college or university to pursue a bachelor's degree, and be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Flagler County for at least one year (provide copy of voter registration card or driver's license).

American Association of University Women- Deland - Scholarship for a new or continuing student. Scholarship recipient must be a female, aged 21 or older, and must be in transition returning to complete her education. (This applies to any woman who has been away from formal education for work, family or personal reasons and is now returning to complete her education.) Must be a resident of Volusia County for at least 3 years and a U.S. citizen. Scholarship recipient must be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours in an academic major at DSC in the semester for which the scholarship is sought.

American Association of University Women-Daytona Beach - $800 scholarship for a new or continuing student. Scholarship recipient must be a female resident of the greater Daytona Beach area for at least one year and provide proof of residency via photocopy of voter registration or driver's license. Scholarship recipient must be in transition returning to complete her education. (This applies to any woman who has been away from formal education for work, family or personal reasons and is now returning to complete her education.) Scholarship recipient must be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours in an academic major at DSC in the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Preference is given to student in Daytona Beach area (broader Halifax area) to be able to attend the AAUW - DB meetings.

American Lung Assoc of FL Respiratory Scholarship - $500 scholarship for a continuing student who will have completed the first semester in the Respiratory Care Program and all of the Support Science or General Education courses as per the DSC Catalog prior to the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must be enrolled in the Respiratory Care Program at DSC in the semester for which the scholarship is sought and must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA. Applicants must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler County and the State of Florida. Applicants must have volunteered at least 5 hours for the ALAFCA prior to application submittal. Applicants must demonstrate either academic excellence or financial need, must not use any tobacco products, must permit the ALAFCA to publicize the scholarship in the local media, and must agree to meet with the ALAFCA during the semester of the award.

Amy Euliss Campbell Memorial Endowment Scholarship - $800 scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll for at least six semester hours in the Photography program during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Annie T. Dixon Scholarship - $1,000 for new or continuing student enrolled for min of 6 hours in occupational-technical certificate or degree program; min 2.0 GPA.

Argie Scholarship - First Generation - $1,000 scholarship to a full time student and should not be more than 2 years out of high school.  Scholarship recipient must be enrolled in the semester for which scholarship is sought.  Scholarship recipient must maintain satisfactory grades (2.0 GPA) seeking an Associate’s Degree or a Bachelor's Degree.  Scholarship recipient must be a resident of Volusia County, a US citizen must demonstrate financial need. 

Artists' Workshop of New Smyrna Beach, Inc. Scholarship - Scholarship for an Associate of Arts new or continuing, full or part time student taking a minimum of 6 credit hours. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.  Required Residency   New Smyrna Beach resident.   Recipient must be a US Citizen.  Recipient must demonstrate financial need.  Recipient must attend one Artist’s Workshop general meeting.  Preference given to studio arts majors.

Association of Florida Colleges (AFC) Employee Course Material To assist members of the DSC Chapter of AFC with the cost of course materials associated with classes or training.  Employees must apply using the AFC Application form.  Completed applications are returned to the Chapter who will convene an unbiased committee to determine the number and amount of awards.  Employee must be a member in good standing in the Daytona State College Chapter of the Association of Florida Colleges (AFC), formerly the Florida Association of Community Colleges for one year prior to the reimbursement application deadline.  Employee must be employed at DSC for the entire length of the course.

AutoCad Scholarship - Awards for four students who have completed the first level of Auto CAD program.  Funding for tuition (3 Hours), book, lab fees and 2 computer disks.  Recipients selected by program manager.

Bachelor of Applied Science Student Crisis Award - This scholarship was established to help students in crisis in the BAS program, in order to pay tuition.  Dr. Hamby or Dr. Shea Gartlan will decide who gets the award.  Dr. Hamby will email the Foundation office with the information on who is to receive the awards.   Scholarship award may be applied to tuition and fees only.

Bagen, Leonard Memorial Scholarship - To provide assistance for students with Specific Learning Disabilities & Attention Deficit Disorder. Student applicants must have written verification of a specific learning disability from a qualified professional and must be registered with eh Disabled Student Services Dept.  Applicants should submit a letter to the Exec. Dir. of the Foundation, outlining the purpose of the requested financial assistance.  Letter should include the student's major and a brief biographical sketch. Applicant must maintain a 2.2 GPA. Funds may be issued to assist qualified students with tuition, textbooks, adaptive equipment or needed diagnostic testing from a licensed professional.

Bagen/General Stud Aid Scholarship -  Intended to benefit a disabled student.  One $500 scholarship.

Bank of America Dream Makers Scholarship Fund - $500 scholarship per semester to be awarded to a first generation college student. Scholarship may be used for tuition, books, fees, and childcare. A minimum of a 2.0 is required. Funded by the FL Community College Foundation

Barbara Amos Sipe Scholarship - $1000 scholarship for a student in their Senior year who has completed 90 credit hours towards a B.S. degree in one of the following areas: Elementary Education, Exceptional Student Education, Secondary Education Mathematics, Secondary Education Biology, Secondary Earth/Space Science Education.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. Student must be enrolled full time at DSC in the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Scholarship monies can be used for tuition, fees and/or books only. Preference will be given to students who are not eligible for Federal Funding and who is a non-traditional student. Student must demonstrate financial need.

Battelle Memorial Scholarship Marine Science - New or continuing Full-time student enrolled in the Marine Science Program at DSC. Must maintain minimum of 2.0 GPA, must be a US citizen, must demonstrate strong financial need.  $500 per semester announced in SP, SU and FA.

Bell South Scholarship - One $750 scholarship for   full-time student enrolled in a communications and/or marketing program in the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Scholarship recipient must be a second-year student who has already completed at least 24 semester hours and scholarship recipient must demonstrate financial need

Bernice N. Fishpaw Nursing Scholarship - $850  scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll at least part-time in the Licensed Practical Nursing  Limited Access Program during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA and must be currently employed as licensed Certified Nursing Assistant.  Must provide proof of current licensure and a letter from the CNA's current employer.  Must excel in patient care and must be a resident of Volusia County.  

Bert Fish Foundation BSN Scholarship Fund -  For a new or continuing student, with a minimum GPA of 3.0, enrolled in the BSN program at Daytona State College during the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Awards amounts will vary based on semester hours enrolled.

Bert Reames International DSC Student Fund - To qualify for this scholarship students must be:   1.  A non-resident of the United States.  2.  A DSC degree-seeking and in their second or greater year of study.  3.   Making satisfactory progress towards degree completion.  4-.  Demonstrate a degree of financial need.  5.  Complete the Foundation application form.

Bill Chappel Memorial Scholarship - $800 scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll for at least six semester hours during the semester for which the scholarships are sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Bill Duff Scholarship  -  Scholarship recipient must have graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from DBCC prior to the semester for which the scholarship is sought.   Scholarship recipient must be an incoming junior who is enrolled for at least 12 credit hours in a bachelor's degree program at the University of Florida during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Scholarship recipient must demonstrate financial need (submit copy of financial aid award statement from the University of Florida). Scholarship recipient must maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Scholarship recipient must be willing to meet with the Rotary Club of Downtown DeLand during the year in which the scholarship is awarded.  Preference will be given to residents of West Volusia.  Students will apply for the scholarship according to DBCC Foundation guidelines and timelines. Initially, scholarship will be announced once per year.  For use during the Fall semester. Scholarship may be awarded as a multi-semester award for up to four semesters (or two years from when the initial award installment was distributed).  Primarily for use during the Fall and Spring semesters, though student may utilize scholarship during the Summer semester provided he or she maintains minimum enrollment criteria.  Initially, scholarship award amount will be $2,500 per semester per student, not to exceed $5,000 per year for up to two years.  Scholarship recipient will be selected by a DBCC Foundation Selection Committee.  The DBCC Foundation will notify the recipient and prepare a check in the appropriate award amount made payable to the institution directly. To receive initial award, recipient must provide the Foundation with a copy of his or her registration and fees statement for the semester for which the scholarship will be used. Scholarship recipient must maintain minimum scholarship criteria in order to receive additional installments. Recipient must provide evidence of satisfactory progress, as well as the next semester’s registration and fees statement to receive additional installments.

Bill Gordon Automotive Scholarship Endowment - $850 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll for at least twelve semester hours in an automotive program during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must maintain satisfactory progress toward program completion and demonstrate financial need. 

Bobby Thigpen Scholarship - Offered to new or continuing full-time student (minimum of 11 credit hours); Minimum GPA of a 2.5.     Residents of Volusia or Flagler counties   Participant on the DSC Soccer program. Student does not have to have financial need. $600 for 6-8 credits; $900 for 9-11 credits; $1200 for 12+ credits                  

Brewster, Edna Disabled Student School & Emergency Fund - PURPOSE OF SCHOLARSHIP:  Restricted to use by the Disabled Student Services for students with disabilities, with preference to those with vision impairment.

Brian Kelley Scholarship -  Minimum 2.5 GPA, open to all majors at DSC, Volusia County resident.  Preference is given to students who reside in Ormond Beach, students in the music program and planning on a career in the music industry, students who are baseball players and eligible for scholarships.   (Award varies:  $600 for a student taking 6 - 8 credits; $900 to a student for taking 9 - 11 credits and $1200 for a student taking 12+ credits.) 

Business and Professional Women's Club - Up to $600 for Fall and Spring (total $1200) scholarship for a new or continuing non-traditional female student.  Applicants must be Ormond Beach or Daytona Beach Resident for at least one year, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.  Must be enrolled in a degree seeking program, AA or BAS. Preference for Business or Education and preference for a student needing help to graduate.

C.W. Skip Eads Memorial Scholarship -  $500  to  a  part- time  student  or $1,000  to   a  full- time  student;    A total  of  $1000  to be  announced  per  awarding  semester.  Continuing  Student -  Must  be enrolled  as  a  3rd or  greater semester  student ;  3.0  Minimum GPA;  AA, AS  or  BAS; Volusia/Flagler  County Resident; Scholarship(s)  to  be  given  to  the  students  who  have the  greatest  financial  need.

Career Employees Association Scholarship Fund - This fund is administered by CEA through the Foundation.  They make the selections

Carol Chabot Murphy Scholarship Fund - Student must be a full time student with a minimum of a 2.75 GPA.   Student must be in a career or vocational, i.e. certificate program.  Student must live in Volusia County, be a female and demonstrate financial need.  Student must be referred to by staff or department of DSC and must attend the Deland and/or Daytona Beach campuses.  Preference will be given to students who have shown some compassion for others by volunteering at various times.  Student may not qualify for grants or scholarships available through other programs of scholarship funds.

Central Florida Regional Hospital Scholarship  - Scholarship recipient must be enrolled full-time at DBCC in the registered nursing program in the year (two semesters) for which the scholarship is sought.  Scholarship recipient may be either a new or continuing student. Scholarship recipient must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. Scholarship recipient must sign a contract with CFRH for a working commitment for one year of employment after attaining the RN license for each year of scholarship assistance received. CFRH makes final decision on recipient.

Charles E. Creal Memorial Endowment Scholarship  - Scholarship recipient must be enrolled at DBs in a visual arts or a studio arts program in the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Scholarship recipient must demonstrate financial need. Scholarship recipient must be a U.S. citizen.   Scholarship recipient must be a resident of Flagler County or Volusia County.

Cheryl Ann Case Gannett Endowment - $1,200 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll for at least twelve semester hours in the Nursing (associate degree) program (leading to qualification as a registered nurse) during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate financial need.

Constantin Crachilov Merit Scholarship Fund - International students only.  New or Continuing Full Time Student, taking 12 Credit Hours.  Must have a 3.5 GPA. Must be majoring in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) area of study. AA.  AAS or   BAS with intention to transfer to 4-year institution.  Candidate must demonstrate financial need

Cox/Smith International Scholarship - Scholarship for international students attending DBCC.  To qualify for this scholarship students must:  Be a non-resident of the United States; Be degree-seeking; Be making satisfactory progress towards degree completion;   Demonstrate some degree of financial need

Dana Rodman Tiffany Endowment Scholarship - $800 scholarship. Recipient must be a continuing student. Must be a non-traditional student who has returned to college to complete his or her education. Scholarship recipient must have completed at least six semester hours prior to the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Scholarship recipient must be enrolled for at least six semester hours at DSC during the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Scholarship recipient must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA

DAR Sibthorp Scholarship - New full or part-time student taking a minimum of six-credit hours, seeking an A.S. degree or certificate program at DSC. Must have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA. Must be a resident of either Volusia or Flagler Counties. Student must be a female and a graduate of the Fresh Start Program.  $500 award in the spring.

David Stevens Culinary Management Endowment - For student attending summer classes only -- $1000 for a full-time / $600 for a part time student in the culinary management program. Student must maintain a cumulative minimum GPA of a 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. Student must live in Volusia or Flagler County and does not have to be a US Citizen.

David W. Goddard Scholarship - $800 scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll for at least twelve semester hours in a health-related program during the semester for which the scholarships are sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Dayle E. Metzger Business Scholarship - Student must be enrolled in a Multi Media/Broadcast Communications Associates degree or Certificate program at DSC in the semester for which it is sought.

Daytona Beach Builders Exchange Endowment - $1200 scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll for at least twelve semester hours in the Associate degree Architectural and Building Technology program during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Daytona Beach West Rotary Club Scholarship - New or continuing student.  2.0 GPA;  Must be an honorably discharged veteran or an immediate family member (spouse or child) of a veteran: active duty military satisfies veteran requirement.

Deltona Regional Campus Rotaract Scholarship - This fund is for students on the Deltona Campus engaged the Rotaract Club

Destin Franklin Dental Hygiene Education Transfer Scholarship - $1,000 for graduate of DSC Dental Hygiene program for use towards a Bachelors or Master’s degree.

Diocelina Barrero Scholarship - Scholarship recipient may be a new or continuing student.  Scholarship recipient must be from a Latin American Country.  Scholarship recipient must enroll full time in an AA degree program.

Dr. D. Kent Sharples Bachelor of Applied Science Scholarship - $1,000 Scholarship recipient must be a new or continuing student enrolled in the Baccalaureate Degree program.  Recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA. Purpose is to provide future scholarships to students who have demonstrated their leadership skill and integrity in life and will be pursuing their remaining 2 years for the 4 year degree program at Daytona State College. The award will be offered in Fall and. Spring each year. The amount per semester to be determined.

Dr. John H. Staples Memorial Endowment Scholarship - $800/semester for scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll for at least six semester hours during the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA, be a resident of Volusia or Flagler county (provide copy of voter registration card or driver's license), and demonstrate financial need.

Dr. N.P. Pillai Memorial Scholarship - Scholarship recipient may be a new or continuing student.  Scholarship recipient must be from African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic, or Native-American descent. (Indicate in essay).  Scholarship recipient must be enrolled full-time at DBCC in one of the sciences leading to the biomedical field (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) to obtain an Associate of Arts (AA) degree or a Bachelor’s degree in field.  Scholarship recipient must demonstrate intent to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in field either at DBCC or another 4-year institution.  Scholarship recipient must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.  Scholarship recipient must be a Florida resident.  Scholarship recipient must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident of the United States.  Scholarship recipient must demonstrate financial need.

Dr. Nancy Thomas Memorial Health Information Technology Program -  $1000 scholarship to a 2nd year full-time student; must have completed 35 credit hours within the Health Information Technology AS degree.  Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, be an active participant in the Health Information Technology program student club. Preference will be given to a student who has financial need.

Drs. Roberta and Bernard Gropper Endowment -  $600 for a student taking 6 – 8 credits, or; $900 for a student taking 9 – 11 credits, or $1200 for a student taking 12 – 15 credits; Full or part time Continuing Nursing student; must have completed 10 credit hours in the ADN or BSN program of study;   A minimum of 9 credit hours for students in the ADN program and a minimum of 10 credit hours for students in the BSN program; Minimum of a 3.0;  Must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler County; Student must demonstrate financial need.

DSC Administrator's Council Scholarship - Min. $300.00 award    Min. 3 credit hours    2.5 GPA

DSC Alumni & Friends Association Scholarship - The. DSC Alumni and Friends Association Scholarship is targeted towards a Continuing, Full or Part-Time student taking a minimum of 6 credit hours who is a DSC Alumni and has completed a degree or certificate program. The recipient must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. The Alumni will have been active in some kind of volunteer service in a community.  Scholarship may be for any college credit or certificate program offered at DSC during the semester in which the scholarship is sought.

DSC Culinary Management Fund - $500 scholarship for continuing students who will enroll for at least 12 semester hours in the Culinary Management AS program during the semester for which the scholarships are sought.  Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

DSC Dental Hygiene Scholarship  -  Awarded to a continuing Part or Full Time student in the Dental Hygiene Program. Student must have completed the first semester in the program and is completing courses to obtain an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene. Minimum of 6 credit hours.  Minimum of a 2.5 GPA Must be a resident of Volusia/Flagler Counties. Student shall be engaged with community service activities which will need to be documented in the essay portion of the scholarship application.  Student should explain how this scholarship would benefit him/her in the essay portion of the scholarship application.  Preference will be given to student who has financial need.  $600 for PT, $900 for FT.

DSC Writing Awards -Writing awards are currently given out annually, prior to commencement, during the Spring semester of each academic year.  Foundation to be notified by DSC English Department of award recipients.

Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties - $500 scholarship to a recipient may be a new or continuing student. Scholarship recipient must enroll for at least 3 credit hours in the CDA, AS-Early Childhood Education, or BAS program at DSC in the semester for which the scholarship is sought.   Scholarship recipient must be a resident of Flagler or Volusia County, employed full-time (working a minimum of 30 hours per week) in the field of early childhood education or a related agency within Flagler or Volusia County (provide written verification from employer).  Scholarship recipient must not be receiving any other federal, state, or private education assistance.  CRITERIA- $250 3-6 CR HOURS AND $500 FOR AT LEAST 6 CR HOURS

East Florida Doll Collectors Guild Scholarship - $800 scholarships for new students who are graduates of a Volusia or Flagler county high school and will enroll at DSC in the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 high school GPA and demonstrate financial need.  Preference will be given to student who is majoring in the Arts (music, drama, theater or dance).

Eddie Lee Taylor Memorial Endowment Scholarship - Must be pursuing career in law enforcement; demonstrate financial need; resident of Volusia or Flagler. $1,000 per semester for FT; $600 per semester for PT.

Edmund R. & Victoria M. Wirths Scholarships - $1000 scholarship for new or continuing students who will enroll for at least twelve semester hours during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.  First preference will be given to students in music, with emphasis on stringed instruments, especially the violin; second preference will be given to students in teaching careers; and third preference will be given to students in medical arts and health-related fields. 

Edward Teschner Jr. Memorial Nursing - $1,000 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll for at least six semester hours in the Nursing  (Associate Degree) program (leading to qualification as a Registered Nurse) during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Elizabeth Barr Studio Arts Scholarship Fund - $1500 ($750 per semester- Fall and Spring) scholarship for a new or continuing student taking a minimum of 9 credit hours pursuing an AA in Art;   Preferred candidate is a Student pursing a program of study in a university parallel track in Studio Arts.  Must demonstrate some degree of financial need.  Preference will be given to students taking classes in studio arts, painting, printmaking, watercolor, drawing, pottery, sculpture, stone carving, ceramics and design-(not computer or digital).

Elizabeth Schumacher Memorial Nursing  - Financial assistance for nursing students in memory of Elizabeth Schumacher; Student may be new or continuing; Student must have a 3.0 GPA; Student must be in the RN program; Student must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler county; Student must have financial need. One $800 scholarship.

Emily & Thomas Murphy Endowment for Emergency Support - Up to $1,250 per Scholarship, up to $2,500 per student per year; non-traditional student; Volusia Co resident; must have financial need.

Eric & Lillian Lenholt Memorial - $1,000 scholarship for new or continuing students who is full or part-time students in a healthcare-related program at DSC during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

FBOD Retention Cohort Scholarship - For students who are entering as "first time in college", African American or Hispanic males; funds needed are / to encourage retention and academic success.

FBOD Second Chance Scholarship Fund - For students who were previously enrolled in DSC or another institution and did not pass successfully or who dropped out and are not eligible for financial aid until they remedy their GPA.

Firefighters Education Endowment - New or continuing student for Firefighter Minimum Standards Training; $1,000 per semester; must maintain 2.0 GPA; At discretion of School of Emergency Services Director

Flagler/Palm Coast Scholarship  -  $800 scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll for at least six semester hours during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA, be a Flagler County resident and demonstrate financial need (provide copy of voter registration card or driver's license).

Florida Blue Scholarship - Scholarships to be awarded to students in the Nursing and Allied Health Programs at Daytona State College. A primary focus of the scholarships is to attract students from population segments that are under-represented into the nursing workforce. For purposes of this scholarship, the term under­ represented refers to a student of low socio-economic status. A minimum of a 2.0 is mandated. Eligible programs include the following: Nursing Assistant; Practical Nurse; Associate Degree Nurse; Baccalaureate Degree Nurse and Other Allied Health programs identified by the college.

Florida Health Care Plans Auxiliary Scholarship - $600 scholarship for PT student;  $1200 for FT;  new or continuing student who is a dependent of a FHCP employee that has met FHCP's probationary requirements of 6 months and works at least 20 hours per week.  Min 2.0 GPA; enrolled in at least 6 hours/semester.  The scholarship may be awarded over multiple semesters as long as the scholarship criteria continues to be met. Scholarship recipient may be expected to attend the Florida Health Care Plans Auxiliary banquet in the year that the award is received.

Florida Smooth Jazz Foundation Scholarship -  Award will be $2,500, paid over two academic semesters;  Scholarship shall be based on merit as determined by an audition (at a mutually agreed upon date and time to be attended by the donor), judged by three DSC faculty, not on financial need;  Recipient may be a new incoming student or a returning student;  Recipient must remain in good academic standing in order to receive the second semester funding or to apply for a second year of funding;  Recipient must appear on stage to receive a ceremonial check from the Florida Smooth Jazz Foundation at the Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend or other event to be determined, and agrees to participate in photography of this presentation for publication by the Florida Smooth Jazz Foundation, the DSC Foundation, and/or the College.

Follett Athletic Scholarship - $1000 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll in at least six semester hours during the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Frances Keeling Coe Endowment Scholarship  - $800 per semester scholarship for 4 semesters (total of $3,200 per student) Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.75 GPA and demonstrate financial need.  Preference will be given to non-traditional students.  Scholarship recipients must maintain minimum scholarship requirements to receive subsequent installments. 

Frank, Mildred Scholarship for Visually Impaired - Scholarship assistance for students enrolled in “Assisting Persons with Limited Vision” continuing education class at DBCC.  Scholarship recipient may be a new or continuing student.  ** Fund may pay for tuition, instructor and course materials.  It appears to be funded when the instructor requests to run a class.

Gary R. Libby Scholarship Fund      

  • The funds will be used to create at least one (1) student internship per semester for a student enrolled in the Department of Photography or another related department.
  • Student will apply for the internship and be selected by the Director of the Southeast Museum of Photography.
  • Student intern will be awarded up to a $500 scholarship for the internship.
  • Student’s internship will be directed and coordinated by the Director of the Southeast Museum of Photography to coordinate and facilitate the exhibit(s) at the Gary R. Libby Gallery in the News Journal Center at Daytona State College.

George C. Nunamann Scholarship - $1200 scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll for at least twelve semester hours during the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need. 

George Thompson Memorial Endowment - $500 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll in a program at the Advanced Technology Center (ATC) during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and be a resident of Volusia or Flagler county (provide copy of voter registration card or driver's license).

Gerald T. Frisby Memorial Scholarship - $500 scholarship for a full-time student seeking a vocational certificate after completing 22 credit hours.  Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA.  Must be a Florida resident, with preference given for Volusia or Flagler County residents. Preference given to student who came out of Adult Ed. program or a non-traditional student.

Ginn Championship Scholarship - $600 scholarship to a part time continuing student or $1200 to a full time continuing student  who will enroll for at least 12 semester hours in the Culinary program during the semester for which the scholarships are sought. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Goff, Mary Ann Women's Center Scholarship - Student recipient must be a graduate of the Fresh start program. At least one recipient per year will be from New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater, or Oak Hill Area. Funds will be used for books, tuition, to continue their education. Final decision regarding who will receive funding will be made by 3 staff members of the Center for Women and Men.

Gordon E. & Gladys Gresso Endowment - $1000 per scholarship; Full-time enrolled students with a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrating financial need and who are pursuing a degree in Arts and or Sciences. 

Griffin Achievement Trust - Scholarship for students pursuing a technical or vocational degree or certificate.   Gifts shall be awarded annually to cover the Fall and Spring semesters, provided the recipient continues to meet the eligibility criteria and is successfully progressing towards graduation and/or completion.  Gifts shall be awarded to students demonstrating the most financial need, with preference given to veterans, graduates of the Fresh Start Program in the Center for Women and Men, and non-traditional students.

Gullet Family Endowment - New or continuing student and must be enrolled in law enforcement recruitment training, firefighting, fire science technology or emergency medical services; 2.0 GPA; resident of Volusia or Flagler.  May be used for tuition, books, lab fees, uniforms and/or examination fees. $1,200 per semester for FT (12 hours or more); $800 per semester for PT (less than 12 hours)

Hal Marchman Endowment for Human Services - Students in Human Services programs; 2.5 GPA; $600 for 12 hours or more; PT students receive proportionate award. 8 awards for fall & spring; 10 awards for summer at $300 each.

Halifax Health BSN Scholarship - Tuition reimbursement for students who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Science, Nursing program at DSC.  Students must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, be a US Citizen and a Volusia or Flagler County resident.  Student must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours - a maximum of 6 credit hours.   Student must also be a current employee at Halifax Health and agree to continue employment for a minimum of one year.    

Hammock Dunes Scholarship - Full tuition, labs and fees for employees or their dependents of Hammock Dunes Club. Does NOT include books.  MUST BE APPROVED BY HAMMOCK DUNES MANAGER.

Hammock Women's Association Scholarship Endowment - $1,200 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will be enrolled at Daytona State in the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must be a resident of Flagler County, with preference for residents of Hammock, FL. Must be a United States citizen for at least five years, and must demonstrate financial need.  Scholarship recipient must maintain satisfactory progress toward program completion.

Hammond Felt Minor Scholarship - $1500.00 per semester; not to exceed $4500 to one student:  Intent is to provide 100% of funding for one student enrolled in the 2nd through 4th semester of the Physical Therapy Program, which will include books, lab fees and exams.

Harry Leroi Baker Endowment - $750 scholarship to a continuing student.  First Preference to wastewater / water treatment major: next to a chemistry major; then to other science majors.  Financial need minimum 3.0 GPA

Helen Wetzel Memorial Scholarship - Endowment  $1,000/semester scholarship for DSC grad enrolled in DSC's BAS program.

Helping Hands Women's Center Fund - Ponce Inlet Women's Club - $ 600 or $1200 Scholarship recipient may be a new or continuing female student. Recipient must be a graduate of the Fresh Start Program. Recipient must be enrolled at DSC for the semester in which the scholarship is sought.  Previous Helping Hands Scholarship recipients are not eligible for subsequent awards

Henry C. Okraski Scholarship in Simulation Technology - $1400 scholarships for a new or continuing student who is enrolled in the A.S degree in Simulation and Robotics or who has completed the A.S. in Simulation and Robotics and is now enrolled in the B.S. Program in Engineering Technology (BSET) at DSC in the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must be a Florida resident, have a minimum grade point average of 2.5, and demonstrate some degree of financial need.  Scholarship will be awarded over two semesters ($700 per semester).

Herbert B. Cannon Endowment - $1000 scholarship to a continuing student; Must have completed twelve semester hours; Equal to or greater than 6 Credit hours; GPA 2.75; All majors; Preference to graduates of New Smyrna Beach High School.

Heritage Gold & Diamond Exchange Finance Scholarship - $500 scholarship for students who have attended Deltona HS, Pine Ridge HS and/or University HS (Orange City). Recipient must be seeking a degree in Finance (first preference) Business (second preference).  Recipient must demonstrate financial needs.

Hispanic American Club of Palm Coast - Scholarship recipient may be a new or continuing full-time student of Hispanic Heritage.  Scholarship recipient must maintain satisfactory grades (3.0 GPA).  Scholarship recipient must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. legal permanent resident (green card holder). Scholarship recipient must demonstrate financial need. Scholarship to be announced in Spring and Fall. Scholarship award will be $500 each semester.  Scholarship recipient must have an acceptance letter of admissions from a 4-year college. Scholarship  recipient  must  submit  a  500  word  essay  on their  Hispanic  heritage.  Scholarship recipient must submit two letters of recommendation (not from a family member). Scholarship recipient must advise of any awards and club committees they have served on.  Award is applied to tuition.  Scholarship selection will be by the Hispanic American Club of PaIm Coast's Selection Committee.

Homer V. Bryans Memorial Scholarship - $1000 scholarship for new or continuing student who will enroll for at least 12 credit hours in a Nursing program during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and be a resident of Volusia or Flagler county (provide copy of voter registration card or driver's license).  Preference will be given to students who are not receiving financial aid.

IMES Scholarship - Awarded through the Daytona State College IMES (Institute of Marine and Environmental Studies) Faculty Selection Committee, at various times throughout the year.  Donor to advise Foundation of recipient(s) and award amounts; Continuing student; Part or Full time; Must have completed a minimum of 12 college credits, Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA; IMES related major: AA transfer track of Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Marine Science, Ocean Engineering or the AS, Environmental Science Technology.

Jack Jessee Memorial Scholarship - $1000 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll for at least six semester hours in the Photographic Technology program at DSC during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must express an interest in a career as a photojournalist, have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA, and demonstrate financial need.  Applicants must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler County (provide copy of voter registration card or driver's license), show a talent for photography, and submit a portfolio of their work.  Preference will be given to past recipients of this award.

James B. Davenport Business Scholarship - $800 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll in a business or culinary management program at DSC during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to single parents (male or female).

James Fentress Scholarship Endowment - Two $1,000 scholarships per semester. Scholarship recipient must be a full time student in trade field, machinist or welding, second choice is for education /teaching. Scholarship recipient must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA for college classes already taken, if any.

James Walter Fitts Memorial Endowment - $700 scholarship for a continuing student who will enroll for at least six semester hours in a healthcare related program at DSC during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, be making satisfactory progress towards program completion, and demonstrate financial need.  

Jeff Evans Good Neighbor Photography Scholarship - One $500 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll for at least six semester hours in the Photography program during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must submit a portfolio of photographs of a Volusia or Flagler county community event or a special event of a Volusia or Flagler county community non-profit organization. Portfolio must include an 8x10 signed sample of work, which will be framed by the Foundation and presented to the donor of the scholarship. Scholarship recipient must provide a copy of their portfolio to the community organization or event sponsor.

Joan B. Waters CRUT Scholarship Fund - $1,200 per semester; scholarship for a new or continuing full-time student who is taking 11 credit hours or more, majoring in nursing or a health-care related field.  Student must have a minimum GPA of a 2.5 and be a Volusia or Flagler county resident.  Preference is given to those with financial need, single mothers.

John T. Brunson Scholarship - Scholarship to benefit students in the Dental Program.  Students must be a graduate of a local high school with a minimum GPA of a 2.5.  The student must be registered full time, a minimum of 12 credit hours.  Students must have financial need.  $1,200 per semester for FT.

Jonathan M.R. Zinsli Scholarship - Photography - $500 scholarships for a new or continuing student who will enroll in the photographic technology program at DSC.  Scholarship recipient must demonstrate volunteer service in the photography department, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a mentor.

Jordan Troian Memorial EMT/Fire Scholarship - Scholarship for a new or continuing full or part time student taking a minimum of three credit hours.  Must be enrolled in the Emergency Medical Technician and/or Fire Fighter II Occupational Certificate Program. Must have a Cumulative GPA of a 2.0; Must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler County; Preference given to students who are military veterans. . The goal is to award $250 scholarships and/or awards in each semester, pending the balance of the scholarship account.  If scholarships are awarded, one scholarship each to an EMT and Fire Fighter student for the Fall and Spring semesters; and in the Summer semester, one scholarship each to two EMT students.  Recipient must be approved by donor.

JP Miller Endowment - $2000 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll in either (a) an AA degree program for at least 12 semester hours during the semester in which the scholarship is sought and will continue into a B.S. degree in an Education field at Daytona State following the completion of the AA degree, or (b) a BS degree program in Education, any field.  Applicants must intend to pursue a degree in education at any level, have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.  Applicants must describe in their essay how the scholarship will benefit them and the community.   The scholarship will be awarded over two semesters ($1000 per semester). 

June E. Drulard Memorial Endowment Scholarship - $1,000/semester for students who demonstrate some level of financial need. Students must complete the scholarship application and maintain satisfactory progress toward program completion.

Junior League Scholarship - Two $1,000 scholarships per semester including FA, SP and SU (max of $6,000 per year) to students who are in programs that support the mission and projects of the Junior League. The scholarship purpose is exclusively educational / charitable.  The league reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to volunteerism. 

Kenneth Hawthorne Memorial Scholarship - One $1000 scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll for at least six semester hours at the DSC Flagler/Palm Coast Campus during the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA, be a resident of Flagler County (provide copy of voter registration or driver's license) and demonstrate financial need.  Scholarship recipient must attend classes at the DSC Flagler/Palm Coast Campus.

Kent & Linda Sharples Fund - Students must have demonstrated their leadership skill and integrity in life and will be pursuing their remaining 2 years for the 4 year degree program at DSC.

Kiwanis Club of Daytona Scholarship Fund - $1,000 Scholarship provided to a new student with financial need, who is enrolled in at least 12 credit hours, or be registered as a full time student, for the semester in which scholarship is sought.  Student must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA from their High School.  Scholarship applicant must be currently registered and enrolled in classes at DSC. Applicant must be in a degree program and be a graduate of Mainland, Seabreeze, Atlantic, Fr. Lopez or Spruce Creek high school only.  Preference is given to a student who has participated as a Key Club member in High School.  Recipient will be asked to attend a Daytona Beach Kiwanis meeting during the semester in which the scholarship is received.  Maximum of $5,000 to be awarded per year.

Kodak Professional Photography Endowment - $1,000 scholarships which will recognize the best photography major student to encourage them to succeed. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

L Gale Lemerand Athletic Leadership AWARD Scholarship - To recognize a student athlete for his or her leadership.  The award is giving out at the Athletic Banquet

Lendell Wade Wyatt Memorial Scholarship - $600/semester scholarship; must have special needs resulting from a disability, must demonstrate financial need.

Leonard and Evelyn Sacks Scholarship Fund - One scholarship each year in the amount of $1,200 ($600 Fall/$600 Spring); Recipient must have completed a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours in any of the programs offered in the Mori Hosseini College of Hospitality and Culinary Management and/or in the Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management or in the fields of accounting, business administration (AS degree); Preference will be given to a student with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA; Preference will be given to students who have a desire to work in the industry of food distribution, restaurant management, culinary industry or hospitality management; Preference will be given to students recommended by faculty from the designated programs Recipient is not required to demonstrate financial need; Scholarship may be used for tuition, fees, books, uniforms and/or supplies necessary for course completion.

Leonard T Murphy Scholarship Fund  - New or continuing student; Must be enrolled for at least 6 semester hours for which the scholarships is sought.  Must be Volusia resident. Must maintain 2.0 GPA. Must demonstrate financial need. $800/semester for PT student; $1,200 for FT.

Lesa France Kennedy Culinary Scholarship - Scholarship for an A.S. full-time sophomore, must have completed 24 college credits with a minimum GPA of 2.75 studying Culinary Management, Hospitality Management, Baking and Pastry, or Other culinary / hospitality majors that may be added to the College of Business Administration within the culinary and hospitality disciplines.   Student must be a resident of Volusia County and must demonstrated financial need.  Preference given to those students who have already worked, or are currently working, in hospitality, preferably a restaurant. Up to $1,200 per scholarship.

Lorraine Genest Memorial Endowment - $750 scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll for at least six semester hours during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Volusia or Flagler county (provide copy of voter registration card or driver's license).  Scholarship recipients should repay fund at a future date, if able.

Lt. Joseph L. Muffoletto Police Academy Scholarship Fund - No awards until the 10,000 endowment is met.

Mackall Scholarship Endowment Fund -  First generation students seeking AA or AS degree; 2.0 GPA; $100 per credit hour to max of $1,200/semester.

Margaret Kingson Scholarship - $1,500 scholarship for a new or continuing, full-time student taking a minimum of 11 credit hours; Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0;  For a student enrolled in a teaching program;  Student must demonstrate financial need; Scholarship to be available in the Fall, Spring and Summer.

Marianne P. Alvarez Scholarship Fund  - A $600 scholarship to a part time continuing student or $1200 scholarship to a full time continuing student enrolled in the photographic technology, or other photography and/or art majors provided at DSC at the time the scholarship is awarded.  Students can be working toward their AA or AS degree or working toward the completion of a Certificate.  Student must be living in Volusia County with preference given to students with financial need.

Martha Moore Practical Nursing Endowment Scholarship - $1,000 scholarships for new or continuing students who will be enrolled in the Practical Nursing program at DSC in the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA. be a resident of Volusia or Flagler County, and demonstrate financial need. Scholarship will be awarded over two semesters ($500/semester). Preference will be given to single parents (male or female)

Mathilda Preu Scholarship -  $800 scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll at DSC in the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 GPA.

 

Max & Anne Madorsky Memorial Endowment for Hospitality     $800 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll for at least twelve semester hours in the Hospitality Management program during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Volusia or Flagler county (provide copy of voter registration card of driver's license).

 

McCant J. Trust Scholarship Scholarship for residents of Flagler County for at least three years.  Must be approved by Pastor of St. James Baptist Church.  Must demonstrate financial need.

 

Mercedes Lopez Scholarship Fund  $500 scholarship for a new or continuing student who is an American Indian from the Oglala Sioux tribe and will enroll at DSC during the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must provide tribal certificate verifying they are indeed from the Oglala Sioux Tribe.

 

Mike Curb College of Music and Arts Endowment Recipients must be registered in the College of music or arts during the semester for which the scholarship is awarded. (Preference given to students in the music technology program.)  Students must have a CUM GPA of a 2.5 and must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA.  Students must be US residents, with preference given to Volusia or Flagler county residents.  Scholarship amount will vary based on enrolled credit hours, i.e. $600 - part-time; $900 - three-quarter time; $1200 - full-time.

 

MOCI Scholarship          $800 scholarship to a continuing male student who is enrolled in a minimum of 6 college or vocational credit hours for the semester in which the scholarship is sought.  Scholarship recipient must be a US citizen or permanent resident and must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.  Scholarship recipient must also demonstrate financial need.  Student must be recommended by a DSC faculty or staff member, must participate in at least one MOCI function during the academic school year and must include in his essay his plan upon graduating from DSC and state how the scholarship will help him achieve this goal. Nancy Rowan "Runningal" Memorial Scholarship Up to $1,200 scholarship for a new or continuing student taking 11 credit hours or more with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA.  Student must be a member of the Daytona State College women's cross country team.  Student will be recommended by the Daytona State College Athletic Director in consultation with Financial Aid and the Foundation.  If there is no cross country team, preference is to provide to an eligible female student on any DSC athlete team.

National Defense Industrial Association Scholarship Fund           $2,000 scholarships to new or continuing students who will enroll in the Simulation Technology degree program or in one of the STEM related program fields of study: Computer Engineering, Software Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Internet Services Technology, Networking Services Technology, Drafting and Design Technology, (CAD) and Manufacturing Technology at DSC during the semester for which the scholarship is sought. First choice goes to students enrolled in simulation technology program.  Applicants must be a Florida resident and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.  Scholarship will be awarded over two semesters ($1000 per semester).  Students must continue to meet the minimum criteria of the scholarship to receive second or subsequent installments.

 

Nellie Hosseini Kargar Scholarship -  $500 for Fall; $500 for Spring for a new or continuing, full or part-time student who has graduated from a Volusia or Flagler County High School; Must have a minimum High School or college GPA or 2.5; Must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler County; Selection should be based on greatest financial need, academic performance, leadership qualities and community service.

New Smyrna Beach Business & Prof. Women's Club Scholarship Endowment  -  $1600 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll at DS in the semester in which the scholarship is sought.  Applicant must be a resident of New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater, Wilbur-by-the-Sea, Allandale, Port Orange or Ponce Inlet, maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, and must demonstrate financial need.  Scholarship will be awarded over two semesters ($800 per semester).

Nina K. Hosseini GED and Adult Education Scholarship - Scholarship to pay for Adult High School tuition and fees or for GED test registration for students in pursuit of their Adult High School diploma or G.E.D. Student must have a high school GPA minimum of 2.5; must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler County; Must have attended a Volusia or Flagler County High School; Applicant must submit an essay describing their Career Pathway Plan; And student must plan to continue their education at Daytona State College.

Norma Pruden Memorial Scholarship Fund - $1,000 Scholarship recipient must be enrolled in one of the following two classes in the semester for which the scholarship is sought: ART1500C (Painting I) or ART1501C (Painting II).

Norman N. Miller & Rotary Scholarship Endowment - $1000 scholarship for fulltime or part time student with 2.0 GPA or greater  who has followed the Rotary Motto and Objectives which are having potential leadership, character and service to our community.  Same student can receive scholarship for 2 consecutive years. Must be an Ormond Beach resident.

Norman Neill Johnson Scholarship/Grant Endowment - One $1,000 scholarship for a new or continuing student enrolled in a Studio Arts program at DSC in the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.

North Star Scholarship (Giving Back) -  $700 Scholarship for student enrolled in an AA or AS program in the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Scholarship recipient must have completed at least 30 credit hours.  Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Must be a Florida resident.  Must demonstrate financial need.

Officer Kevin J. Fischer Memorial Scholarship - Financial need and in the Law Enforcement Academy

Ormond Beach Masonic Lodge Scholarship - $1200 scholarship for a recent graduate of a Volusia or Flagler County high school.  Recipient must be a first time college student, must have a 3.0 GPA. Award may be used for tuition and fees.

Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church Fund - $600.00 Scholarship for student enrolled in a vocational occupational certificate program. Must demonstrate financial need. Recipient must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler County with preference for an Ormond Beach resident.  Recipient must be willing to visit the Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church at least once during the year in which the scholarship is received.

Palm Coast Community Center Endowment - $800 scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll for at least six semester hours during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must be a graduate of Flagler/Palm Coast High School (minimum 2.5 high school GPA is required), have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.  Preference will be given to students who will attend the DSC Flagler/Palm Coast Campu

Palm Coast Women's Club - $500 scholarship for a new or continuing female student who will enroll in an Associate or Bachelor’s degree program at DSC during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must be full or part time (minimum of 6 credit hours) and resident of Flagler County (provide copy of voter registration card or driver's license).  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.  Scholarship recipients will be requested to attend a meeting of the Palm Coast Women's Club and/or annual banquet in May.

Paul B. and Constance D. Hunter Charitable Foundation, Inc. - The intent of the Paul B. Hunter and Constance D. Hunter Charitable Foundation, Inc. is to provide funds to Daytona State College Foundation for scholarships and programs.  Each year, the Donor will meet with the Daytona State College Foundation and the parties will discuss opportunities for the Donor.  Upon agreement, an addendum to this Agreement will be developed for execution, to outline such intent for a specific time period.   Each addendum must be executed by the donor as well as a representative from the Daytona State College Foundation, and attached herein.

Peninsula Woman's Club Scholarship - $500.00 Available to new or continuing students. Must be a female. Student must be enrolled at DBCC in a degree program in the scholarship for which the assistance is sought.

Perky Brown Nursing Endowment Scholarship - Up to $1,200 for a nursing student.

Peter McCarthy Memorial Scholarship - $600 to a part time continuing student or $1200 to a full time continuing who has completed at least 12 credit hours and is enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours during the semester in which the scholarship is sought.
The student must have a minimum GPA of a 3.0 and majoring in Accounting or Finance seeking a 2 or a 4 year degree.  Student must be a resident of Volusia County.  First preference will be given to students who are studying accounting or finance, or who are athletes at Daytona State College.   Second Preference will be given to students in any Business related program.

Photo Dept.- Print File Emergency Fund Scholarship - Interest is to be used for emergency loans to photography students, and for outright grants up to $75.00 for photography supplies, etc.  Loans and grants to be made at the discretion of the Program Manager of Photography and approved by the Chairman of the Visual Arts Department.

Pilot Club of Halifax Scholarship - Recipient must be a non-traditional students pursing a degree in Education or a Health Care Field;  The recipient may be a graduate of the Fresh Start Program but does not have to be; Recipients will be men or women coming to or returning to college after a period away from school; Student must maintain a 3.0 GPA;   Recipient will be invited as a guest to a lunch meeting of the Pilot Club of the Halifax Area;
A scholarship of $1,500 will be awarded to one student and paid over two semesters; and  Student may reapply for the following year.   

Pilot Club of Port Orange Fresh Start Scholarship - One scholarship for a Fresh Start Graduate enrolled at DSC for at least 6 semester hours in an AA, AS AAS, or BAS program; Recipient must maintain a 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Pilot Club-Daytona Beach - Scholarships to non-traditional students enrolled in the Practical Nursing or Associate Degree Nursing Programs.  Student must have completed all pre-requisites for program and be accepted into or continuing in one of the Nursing programs at DSC.   Scholarship recipient will be expected to attend a meeting of the Pilot Club of Daytona Beach. 

Ponce Inlet Women's Club Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship to a new or continuing student. Scholarship recipient must be enrolled at least 6 credit hours at DSC in the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Scholarship recipient must be working toward a degree or certificate at DSC.  Scholarship recipient must maintain satisfactory progress toward program completion. Scholarship recipient must demonstrate financial need.  Scholarship recipient must be a returning adult student. 

Port Orange/South Daytona Rotary Club Scholarship Endowment - $1000 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll for at least six semester hours during the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need and be a resident of Volusia County. First preference will be given to graduate of either Spruce Creek High School or Atlantic High School. Second preference will be given to graduate of Warner Christian Academy Father Lopez High School or Mainland High School. Scholarship recipient must be willing to participate in at least one Rotary community service project and attend at least one Rotary luncheon meeting.

Pt Orange Elks Hearts Scholarship - $500 scholarship for a new or continuing, enrolled as full or part time, with a minimum 2.0 GPA.  Student must seeking an A.S. degree and be a Port Orange resident.  The intent of this scholarship is to provide funding for up to four (4) semesters to a student enrolled in an A.S. degree program.

Registered Professional Nurse Association of Flagler County - $1000 scholarship to a new or continuing full or part-time nursing student.  Must be a resident Flagler, Volusia or St. Johns Counties. Must have GPA of 2.5. Must have completed at least 12 credit hours from an accredited college. For student pursuing RN or BSN.  Recipient will be invited to attend their end of year luncheon.

Renee M. Keller Nursing Endowment Fund - $2,000 scholarship  for a new or continuing student who will enroll for at least twelve semester hours in the Nursing (associate degree) program (leading to qualification as a registered nurse) during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.  Preference will be given to graduates of either Seabreeze High School or Mainland High School.  The scholarship will be awarded over two semesters ($1,000 per semester).

Richard Miller Music Endowment Scholarship - $1,000/semester scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll full-time in a Music program at DSC in the semester in which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA

Road to Graduation Scholarship - One-time scholarship to assist students who are in their last semester to earn a degree or certificate. Scholarship to pay up to 9 hours tuition.  Student must have a minimum CUM GPA 2.0.  Student must have 9 credit hours or less remaining to complete a degree or certificate program. Preference given to students who have reached or surpassed the 150% completion mark.  Students must be either loan-only or do not qualify for financial aid.

Robert E. Dearduff Scholarship Fund - $300 scholarship to a new or continuing student in the Workforce Machining and Welding Program. Scholarship recipient may either be a full time or part time student with a minimum GPA of a 2.0 with preference given to students who have completed a minimum of 25% of credit hours. 

Robert Grim Memorial Scholarship - New or continuing student; must be enrolled in law enforcement recruit training. $500 per semester.

Robert Woisard Memorial Scholarship Endowment for Allied Health  - New or continuing student enrolled in the Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, or Assoc Degree in Nursing program; must demonstrate financial need. $1,200 for FT; $800 for PT.

Ronald J. Jaszczak Undergraduate Scholarship - One $1,000 scholarship to be awarded every Fall to a student who has completed a minimum of one (1) year of student in an engineering program.  Preference will be given to a student with high academic achievement and financial need.   Donors encourage consideration to students of Slavic heritage.

Rotary Club of Daytona Beach West Scholarship Fund - $1,000 scholarship for a Volusia County High School graduate who is enrolled in career and technical programs at the DSC Advanced Technology College.

School of Engineering Technology Program Fund - The goal of the fund is to support senior design students’ projects - targeting innovation and creativity of taking community and industry ideas into a marketable product. The Senior Design Students’ Funds is intended to provide direct benefit to Engineering students taking senior design courses ETI4448 and/or ETG4950.  To purchase a permissible item for fund reimbursement, Dr. Nabeel Yousef and/or Dr. Ronald Eaglin, or a designee, must pre-approve, with the Executive Director of the Foundation providing final approval prior to purchase.

SCV James F. Hullcamp Book fund for veterans - To assist students who are veterans who have financial need and Have limited financial resources to purchase required textbooks or e-books required for the classes in which they are enrolled; the Director of the DSC Veteran Center, in consultation with Financial Aid and or the Foundation my select the student(s) who will benefit from this fund.

Second Chance Scholarship - Russak  - Scholarship for a FT or PT student who has a least 12 college credits or one full semester with a vocational certificate program; $600 for a student taking between 6-8 credit hours; $900 for a student taking 9 - 11 credit hours; $1100 for a student taking 12 credit hours or more; Award in FA, SP, SU for any major or degree; Student does not have to demonstrate financial need through FAFSA but should indicate how this scholarship will help. Student does not need to be a US citizen.

Second Chance Scholarship Fund - Hintz O'Steen-Rohling Scholarship to be awarded to a new or continuing student, who is full or part time, taking a minimum of 3 credit hours. Student must have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA. Student must be an active participate in their church or community organization, and have work experience. Preference will be given to West Volusia residents. Scholarship will be based on scholastics, financial need and community / church services.

Sheriff Edwin H. Duff II Endowment - Must be enrolled in law enforcement program or law enforcement business program for a minimum of 12 hours; 2.5 GPA; $500 per semester.

SIM Central Florida BS Engineering Tech/IS - Central Florida Scholarship Fund - 2 $1500 Scholarships ($750 for Fall and $750 for Spring) for a full or part-time student in the B.S. in Engineering Technology - Information Systems Technology or Information Mgmt/Tech. major or related discipline. Student must demonstrate financial need, be a Florida resident, have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in the semester for which the scholarship is sought.

Smyrna Yacht Club Scholarship - Scholarship recipient(s) may be a new or continuing student;  New scholarship recipients will receive a minimum of $750 per semester (fall and spring for total of $1,500) provided criteria is met for second semester;  Student must be enrolled for a minimum of six (6) credit hours in the semester for which the scholarship is sought;  Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5;  Student must be enrolled in any college major offered at DSC at time of scholarship award;  Scholarship recipient will be selected by an unbiased committee organized by the Smyrna Yacht Club (2 or more persons);  Smyrna Yacht Club will notify the Foundation in writing of the recipient selections and award amounts;  Scholarship recipients may be requested to attend the Smyrna Yacht Club annual scholarship luncheon;  Returning scholarship recipients will be considered for an additional minimum $1,000 scholarship ($500 fall and $500 spring) provided that student maintains 2.5 GPA and has completed a minimum of 15 credit hours in first year of classes.  In the event, scholarship recipients do not complete classes for the entire year in which the scholarship is awarded, the Donor maintains the ability to re-allocate funds for distribution within the same year.

South Campus Scholarship - Scholarship for student attending New Smyrna campus.

Southern States Scholarship - $800 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll for at least six semester hours during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

St. Bernadette Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society Scholarship - Scholarship for graduates of the PACE Center for Girls. Recipient must participate in the Fresh Start Program, attend summer classes, remain in good academic standing for subsequent awards; and for continuing support, must participate in the TRIO Program. Scholarship will pay for meal plan, books and equipment.

St. Augustine Youth Services Scholarship Fund - $400 scholarship for tuition, supplies, fees, books or other identified expenses for students referred by the SAYS Program to the Fresh Start Program;  Student must have adequate attendance in FRESH START classes, missing no more than 2 sessions, with the exception of emergencies and medical needs;  Student must meet with Career Services;   Student must attend Admissions Checklist Meeting;  Student must complete FSA ID & FAFSA;  Student must meet with Academic Advisor; and, Student must meet with Financial Aid Advisor.

STEM Book Scholarship Fund - Support for a new or continuing FT or PT student taking a minimum of 3 credit hours in one of the following majors: Science, Technology, Engineering or Math. May be seeking an AS or BS.  Student recipient must be recommended or referred to receive funding / reimbursement by a DSC faculty member.

Stephen C. Way Memorial Endowment  - $1,000 scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll for at least twelve semester hours at DSC in a business program during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA and must not be eligible for, nor receiving financial aid.

Steve Schildecker BSN Scholarship -  $1000 scholarships for graduate of DSC (any year any health program, accepted at a college or university and be admitted to Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and be enrolled during the semester for which the scholarships are sought. Applicants must maintain satisfactory progress toward program completion and demonstrate financial need.

Surgical Tech Emergency Dept. Fund -  Monetary grant made to Surgical Tech student for emergency needs as determined by the Surgical Technology program manager.

Talton, Ed West Campus Book Scholarship Fund - This award is an emergency fund under the direction of the Deland Campus Director

Taz Zachos Memorial Award - The student with the highest GPA in the first semester of the Respiratory Care Program for the first four core courses as documented by the Respiratory Care Program Faculty.  $500 award or as specified by Respiratory Care Faculty and depending on fund balance. Funds may be used for program support that is outside of the Respiratory Program budget and approved by DSC. Faculty will notify Foundation staff every January.

The Center For Women and Men Advisory Board - $1,000 scholarship recipient may be a new or continuing student. Scholarship recipient must be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at DSC or be ready to submit an application to DSC as evidenced by financial aid application completion.  Scholarship recipient must have participated or be currently participating in programs sponsored by the Center for Women & Men, i.e., Fresh Start, New Directions, EL Civics, CCAMPIS.  Applicant must have a minimum of 2.0 GPA. The applicant must demonstrate financial need.  There is no limit as to the number of times an individual may apply, but a student can only receive an award through this fund once in an academic year.

The Duane L. Lockhart Scholarship - Scholarship for a continuing student, who is enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hour and a resident of Volusia or Flagler County.  Student can be part or full time in one of the following programs:  Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), or Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN).  Scholarship amount is depend upon fund balance and credit hours student is enrolled.   (Guide: $100 p/c/h but not more than $1200 p semester)

The Garden Club of Halifax Country Scholarship - $2,000:  Multi-semester scholarship to one student a year; $1000 in the Summer semester and $1,000 in the Fall semester.  Second installment of scholarship will only be provided if student continues to meet all such scholarship criteria.  Continuing student taking a minimum of 12 credit hours who has completed a minimum of 24 credit hours and is currently enrolled in the Photographic Technology A.S. at DSC.  Must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Must be a resident of either Volusia or Flagler Counties.  Student may be asked to attend a meeting of the Garden Club of Halifax Country following receipt of such scholarship.  Student must demonstrate financial need.

The Helios Education Foundation First Generations Scholars  -  Up to $1,000 scholarships to be awarded to 1st Generation students only. Scholarship monies may be used for tuition, books and fees only. Student must be in good academic standing... Preference is for students preparing for a career in education, with the intent to become a teacher in the state of Florida. Student must take the “Student Success” course (SLS 1122) in the 1st year of study to meet the requirement of enrolling in the “Life Skills Course” required for all recipients. Student must be a permanent resident of Florida.

The Hodgson Family Endowment - BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) $600, per semester, to a part-time student for a maximum award of $1,800 per academic year.
$900, per semester, to a three quarter time student for a maximum award of $2,700 per academic year. $1200, per semester, to a full-time student for a maximum award of $3,600 per academic year.  New or continuing,  Full or part time, Minimum of six (6) credit hours, Minimum of a 3.2 GPA;  Required Residency: Volusia County Other: Student must have high financial need.

The Jerome and Dr. Esther Krueger Scholarship - $1000 scholarship to full-time students in their second year of study, who are taking a minimum of 11 credit hours or more.  Student must have a 3.0 GPA and be in the ADN or BSN program.  Students must have financial need and preference are given to students who are veterans. 

The Joseph E. & Shirley P. Dennison Endowment - Full-time student (minimum 9 credit hours)  in one of  :Licensed Practical Nursing; Associate Degree - Nursing; or Transitioning from Associate Degree to Bachelor of Science in Nursing $1,000/semester.  Minimum 3.0 GPA

The Larry and Andrea Frank Culinary Scholarship/Award - Scholarship will be awarded to a part or full time student, enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours, in the Culinary Arts, with the intent on getting an A.S. in Culinary Management.  Student must be a resident of Volusia / Flagler County and have the intention of working in the Volusia / Flagler community upon graduation.  Preference will be given to students who are currently working in the hospitality industry in Volusia / Flagler County and have at least one recommendation from a DSC professor.

Thomas, Margaret & John Crumley Endowment Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will be enrolled in a science program seeking a Bachelor’s degree in Science.  Student must have a GPA of 3.0, student must demonstrate financial need.

Tillandsia Garden Club Scholarship - One $1000 scholarship to a new or continuing education student who is Full time (12 credit hours or more) with an average GPA of 3.0.  Student must be an Environmental Science Major in an Associate’s Degree Program.  Must be a US Citizen, a resident of Daytona Beach or Ormond Beach and a high school graduate of Seabreeze High School or Mainland High School.

Tom and Julie Hilburn Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship for student pursuing a firefighter certificate; student must maintain a 2.5 GPA; and, must demonstrate financial need.

TRIO Student Support Services Scholarship - Recipient must be participating in the TRIO Student Support Services program in the semester for which the aid is sought.   Awards are based upon the recommendation of the Director and Coordinator, Student Support Services.  When a selection is made, the Director and Coordinator, Student Support Services will provide the Foundation with the student’s name, award type, award amount, and a description of the student’s need.

VADM John S. Disher Simulation Technology Scholarship - $1700 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will be enrolled in the DSC simulation technology degree program in the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must be a Florida resident, must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5, and must have some degree of financial need.  Scholarship will be awarded over two semesters ($850 per semester).

Vance and May McMurtry Adult Education Scholarship Endowment - $250 scholarship for a new college credit DSC student who successfully completes the GED program at DSC.  Applicants must be first-semester college credit students at DSC during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants' essays should address two topics:  "What are your career and educational goals and how do you plan to reach them?" and "What obstacles have you had to overcome in order to attain your GED?"  The scholarship amount is based on actual tuition with a maximum award of $250.

Virginia M. Lipka Nursing Endowment Scholarship  -  $1000 scholarship for a new or continuing student who will enroll for at least six semester hours in the Nursing (associate degree) program (leading to qualification as a registered nurse) during the semester for which the scholarships are sought.  Minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA; Demonstrate financial need.

Virginia T. Bingham Scholarship - $1000 Scholarship to be awarded based on financial need and academic excellence.

Voiture #294, 40 & 8 Scholarship  -  One $650 scholarship for a continuing student who has completed at least one semester in a nursing program. Scholarship applicant must be enrolled in a nursing program at DSC during the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Scholarship recipient must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA

Volusia County Medical Scholarship - $800 scholarship to a recipient must have been a resident of Volusia County for a minimum of one year.  Scholarship recipient must have completed a minimum of 25 semester hours. Scholarship recipient must maintain a minimum of nine semester hours during the semester of award. Scholarship recipient must maintain a minimum of 3.25 GPA as evidenced by official transcripts. Scholarship recipient must be on a track to receive an AS or AA degree, first choice to a student on a biology track, pre-med major; second choice to a student in the nursing field.   Student must be a US Citizen.    Preference given to students who have successfully completed their AS degree at DSC through the Duel Enrollment Program or who have participated in the Dual Enrollment Program while in High School.  Preference will also be given to students who are relatives of VCMS members and/or who are referred to / by VCMS members.  Students essays should confirm their career goals in the field of Biology and/or Pre-Med.  Students must also indicated if they are a relative of a VCMS member.

Volusia Manufacturers Association Scholarship - $500 scholarships for new or continuing students who will enroll for at least six semester hours in the Manufacturing Technology Degree program or the Machine Trades Apprenticeship program during the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA. Scholarship recipients may be requested to attend a meeting or luncheon with Volusia Manufacturers Assoc. Representatives.

Wallace and Hanna Miller Endowment Scholarship - $1,000 per semester for new or continuing student; must be taking 12 credits or more; GPA 3.0; must demonstrate financial need

Walter Konak Endowment Scholarship - $1,000/semester for new or continuing student. Must be enrolled a minimum of 6 semester hours and maintain 2.0 GPA.

Watts-Greenlee Music Scholarship - $500 scholarships for a new or continuing student who will enroll for at least 6 semester hours in a music major (or who is preparing for a music-related career) during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrate financial need.

West Side Booster Athletic Scholarship - Academic scholarship for a walk on student athlete

White, Letitia T. Memorial Scholarship - Scholarship recipient must have completed 12 hours or more at DBCC.   Scholarship recipient must have at least a 3.0 GPA.  Scholarship recipient must demonstrate some degree of financial need.  Scholarship recipient must demonstrate some degree of community service. First preference will be to African-American female students.  Preference will be given to residents of Flagler, St. Johns, and Putnam Counties.

William H. Murray Memorial Scholarship Trust Fund - William H. Murray Memorial Scholarship. $2,000 Scholarship; to be awarded $1,000 in the fall and $1,000 in the spring, to a continuing student enrolled in at least 10 credit hours within the nursing program. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need. Essay should include educational and career goals, awards or honors received, community and/or school activities and extenuating financial circumstances

William W. Gay Veteran Scholarship - $1200 scholarship to a new or continuing, student who will enroll full or part time with a minimum GPA of 2.0 for the semester the in which the scholarship is sought. (includes all degrees and certificates) Student must be a Volusia County Resident (with a strong preference for Eastern Volusia County) and a Veteran or an immediate family member (spouse or child) of a veteran.   Note:  active duty military satisfies veteran requirement and if discharged must be honorable discharge** Student recipient must attend and speak at Rotary Club Meeting. 

WISE Scholarship - $500 scholarship to a continuing student who is in their second year of study (any major) at Daytona State College.  Students must be full-time enrolled in 12 credit hours or more.  Students must have a GPA of a 3.0 and plan to continue on with a four year degree through a Bachelor program at Daytona State College.

AAUW Stem Scholar of the Year -  The American Association of University Women (AAUW) offers a $750 scholarship annually to a female student who resides in Volusia or Flagler counties and is seeking a STEM-related A.A. degree.  Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, must have completed 12 credit hours, 6 of which must be in STEM-related classes.

The L. Gale Lemerand Entrepreneurial Speaker Series Scholarship - The L. Gale Lemerand Entrepreneurial Speaker Series Scholarship awards students interested in becoming entrepreneurs during the March Entrepreneurial Speaker Series. The scholarship awards up to (3) $1,000 scholarships based on the following criteria:

  • One - Volusia or Flagler County high school student who plans to attend DSC;
  • One - DSC college-credit student; and
  • One - DSC Adult Education student

William H. Murray Memorial Scholarship - Multi-semester scholarship is awarded in the fall and spring to students in the nursing program who meet the following criteria:

  • Continuing DSC students;
  • Enrolled in at least 10 credit hours within the nursing program;
  • Have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA; and
  • Demonstrate financial need.

This application opens in January and remains open until April each year.

TRiO Student Support Services Grant Aid  -  The Department of Education funded TRIO Student Support Services program awards students who are active participants in the program.

The scholarship awards students based on the following criteria:

  • Must be an active participant in the TRIO SSS program for at least one semester
  • Must be a Pell-Grant recipient with unmet financial need
  • Must have above a 2.5 GPA

S-STARS Scholarship (Students-Success Through Academic Resources & Services)

A full in-state tuition scholarship program open to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) students currently:

  • Receiving the Federal Pell Grant;
  • Enrolled full-time (12 credits or more);
  • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA; and
  • The ability to attend required meetings throughout the semester
